Abstract

Dharmasraya Regency has significant potential for freshwater aquaculture development, but still faces various obstacles, particularly in managing pond location data, recording production, and monitoring cultivation activities, which are still carried out manually. This condition results in ineffective decision-making processes and is not based on accurate spatial data. This community service program aims to improve the management capacity of freshwater aquaculture businesses by assisting in the implementation of WebGIS technology. The program is implemented using a participatory approach through outreach, field observations, training, and mentoring the use of the WebGIS system for the Mina Karya Fish Farmer Group (Pokdakan Mina Karya). The solution offered is the development and implementation of a WebGIS system capable of mapping the distribution of aquaculture pond locations, presenting non-spatial data such as fish species and pond capacity, and supporting integrated monitoring and evaluation of aquaculture activities. This system is designed to be web-based for easy access and use by partners according to field needs. The program's implementation results in an increase in partners' understanding and skills in utilizing digital technology for freshwater aquaculture management.Partners are able to understand the function of WebGIS-based pond mapping and the importance of structured production data recording to support decision-making. Furthermore, the developed WebGIS system serves as a supporting tool for more effective business planning and aquaculture management. The conclusion of this activity indicates that WebGIS implementation assistance can be an innovative solution for improving the effectiveness of freshwater aquaculture management at the farmer group level. The next program will focus on system utilization, expanding data coverage, and re-implementing WebGIS in other fish farming groups to support data-driven and sustainable fisheries management.
