Tampilan The objectives of this study are: To describe the role of the principal in improving the quality of education at SMP Negerim4 Motomuzoi, Nias Regency. Data collection techniques mainly involved participant observation, in-depth interviews, and literature studies. The data collection instruments used in this study were observation sheets and interview guidelines. Data analysis was conducted in four stages, namely data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of the analysis show that the role of the principal in improving the quality of education is still not effective with the following approaches: a) the role of the principal as an educator, b) the role of the principal as a motivator, c) the role of the principal as an administrator, d) the role of the principal as a manager, and e) the role of the principal as a supervisor.
