SURVEI PERILAKU PENGGUNAAN SMARTPHONE DAN MANFAATNYA DI KALANGAN PELAJAR SEKOLAH MENENGAH ATAS

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan perilaku penggunaan smartphone di kalangan pelajar SMA di Kota Tarutung, serta persepsi kebermanfaatan smartphone dalam pembelajaran. Merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan desain survei deskriptif. Populasi penelitian terdiri dari 3.604 pelajar, jumlah sampel ditentukan berdasarkan tabel Krejcie sebanyak 354 siswa pada tingkat kepercayaan 95% dan margin kesalahan 5%. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan teknik teknik stratified random sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa smartphone memiliki peran dualitas, yaitu sebagai alat bantu belajar yang sangat potensial dan sebagai sumber alternatif informasi pengetahuan. Smartphone menghadirkan tantangan bagi perkembangan sosial dan perilaku psikologi pelajar, smartphone juga mendorong perilaku yang dapat berdampak negatif seperti penurunan perilaku interaksi sosial, hubungan emosional, dan risiko perilaku perundungan online (cyberbullying). Penelitian ini memiliki keterbatasan karena hanya dilakukan pada tingkat SMA sehingga tidak dapat melakukan perbandingan di antara seluruh pengguna smartphone pada pelajar. Disarankan pada penelitian selanjutnya untuk menggambil data dari sampel yang meliputi seluruh satuan pendidikan.
