PERJUANGAN MAKNA DAN KEKUASAAN: TINJAUAN ERIC LOUW TERHADAP MEDIA TV PEMBERITAAN DAN PERTARUNGAN POLITIK DI INDONESIA

Artikel ini mengkaji analisis kesenjangan dan dinamika hubungan antara media berita dan politik di Indonesia melalui kacamata teori komunikasi politik Eric Louw. Dalam kerangka Louw, media massa, dalam hal ini TV News, bukan hanya saluran informasi yang netral secara politik, tetapi juga arena perebutan makna dan kekuasaan, tempat para aktor politik, pemilik media, dan jurnalis berinteraksi satu sama lain untuk membentuk persepsi publik. Di tengah sistem demokrasi yang semakin terbuka, lanskap media di Indonesia menunjukkan gejala mediasi politik yang kuat, di mana kepentingan politik-ekonomi elit sering membingkai narasi berita. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dan tinjauan pustaka, artikel ini menganalisis bagaimana media memainkan peran ideologis dalam mengkonstruksi realitas sosial-politik dan bagaimana kekuasaan disalurkan dan diperebutkan melalui praktik berita. Studi ini menemukan bahwa, seperti yang ditunjukkan Louw, media di Indonesia beroperasi dalam logika pasar dan logika politik, yang menghasilkan medan diskursif yang penuh dengan kontestasi dan hegemonisasi makna. Oleh karena itu, tulisan ini menyoroti pentingnya kesadaran kritis terhadap peran media dalam demokrasi dan perlunya penguatan etika jurnalistik dan literasi media publik guna menyeimbangkan struktur kekuasaan di ruang publik.
