Tuberculosis (TB) is an infectious disease caused by Mycobacterium Tuberculosis) Based on data from the World Health Organization (WHO) (2023), globally, there were 7.5 million people newly diagnosed with TB in 2022. Based on data from the Indonesian Ministry of Health (2023), according to the Indonesian Health Survey, the number of cases of pulmonary TB in Indonesia was 877,531 cases. Based on data from the Muara Buat Health Center. It is known that in 2024, the prevalence of pulmonary TB was 32 cases. Because family preventive behavior is crucial to controlling transmission, this study aimed to determine the relationship between family knowledge and preventive behavior against pulmonary TB transmission in the Muara Buat Health Center Work Area, Bungo Regency. This analytical survey study utilized a cross-sectional design. The population and sample consisted of 32 pulmonary TB patients, selected using total sampling. Data were analyzed using the Chi-Square test at a 95% confidence level. The results indicated that while the majority of respondents (68.8%) possessed sufficient knowledge, 65.6% still demonstrated poor preventive behavior. A statistically significant relationship was found between family knowledge and pulmonary TB transmission prevention behavior (p-value = 0.001). It is hoped that health workers will provide targeted education regarding TB transmission prevention and implement a behavioral checklist to optimize family-based prevention efforts.
